Locals, who were protesting the murder of one Sri Ram Yadav yesterday, had attacked the police team which had rushed there to pacify them before snatching police rifles from constables and damaging a government vehicle, they said.
Two people were arrested in this connection and the rifles were recovered, they said, adding, hunt was on for the six assailants who had shot Yadav dead.
