Two persons were today arrested on charges of bovine smuggling from Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, police said.
During patrolling in the Samba area, a police party intercepted two persons who were herding 28 bovine animals towards Kathua from Samba side without permission, a police officer said.
The bovine smugglers, identified as Lal Hussian and Shahib Ali, were arrested on the spot and all the bovines were rescued, he said.
A case has been registered at Samba police station and an investigation is underway, he said.
