2 arrested for car-jacking in guise of cops

Ghaziabad police have arrested two members of a car-jacking gang, robbbing people of their vehicles in guise of policemen.

Amzad and Bhushan were arrested last night during a security check near Shipra underpass, Indirapuram Police Station SHO Hari Dayal Singh Yadav said here today.

"During the interrogation the duo confessed that their accomplice named Ajay alias Hitler used to wear police uniform and wave the cars to stop for checking and then rob the owners of their cars, cash and valuables," Yadav said.

Two stolen cars, police uniform, two country made pistols of 315 bore and four live cartridges have been recovered from them, he said.
 

The duo have also confessed to committing two robberies on January 5 at Kaushambi and Kala Patthar Road, when one of them was dressed in police uniform.

Absconding gang members identified as Ajay, Deepak and Pankaj Rana will be nabbed soon, the SHO added.
