2 arrested for demanding ransom

Two persons were arrested for demanding huge ransom from the executive engineer of a central government organisation, the police said today.

By threatening with dire consequences since November 3 last.

Achi Tallo and Arun Tayung, both from East Kameng district, were arrested yesterday, SP in-charge Deepankar Mishra said.

On receipt of a complaint, a police team led by of the police station officer in-charge inspector T Bage had laid a trap in the engineer's residence here for the last two days and the duo was caught, he said.

DGP S Nithyanandam announced cash award for each member of the team and exhorted the police force to work in unison for making Arunchal Pradesh crime-free.
 

"Without the cooperation of the civil society the police cannot tackle crime alone," he said.
