Two persons, including a 42-year- old woman, have been arrested and a youth who was allegedly honeytrapped by the duo for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh was rescued from Ghaziabad, police said today.

The police tracked the accused Santosh Kumar and the woman through mobile phone surveillance and arrested them from Ghaziabad. The kidnapped youth Rajneesh Singh was also recovered in a bad shape from a rented room, said Rishi Pal, DCP (east).

Rajneesh, a resident of east Delhi's Krishna Nagar, was missing since August 6 and a complaint was registered with police in this regard by his brother Praveen. While police launched investigation to trace the missing Rajneesh, his family got a ransom call for Rs 10 lakh from the accused kidnappers who were using the mobile phone of the victim, said the officer.

The family members got scared and deposited Rs 20,000 in the bank account provided by the caller, he said.

Police put the number on electronic surveillance and traced the location of the caller and later arrested the accused.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that Rajneesh was lured over phone by the accused woman who developed intimacy with him and managed to call him to Bhopura in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad district in UP.

As soon as he reached there, Rajneesh was overpowered and locked in a room by the accused who kept him in confinement for the past ten days in a very poor condition giving him meager food.
