2 arrested for making fake birth certificates, licences

Two persons were arrested today for allegedly making fake driving licenses and birth certificates in north-west Delhi.

Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Ravindra Yadav said Babu Ram, 29, and Ram Singh, 37 were arrested on a tip-off that they along with others were indulged in selling fake driving license and birth certificates.

The duo were arrested from Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar on Friday, police said.

The police have seized 21 fake driving licenses, 31 fake stamps of several State Transport Authorities, holographic stickers, a laptop, scanner and printer from them.

After the arrest, Babu Ram told police that he has been carrying out this illegal business for the last one and a half year with the help of his associates Ram Singh, Dheer Dhwaj, Akram Bhodha, Ashok and Dharamveer.
 

The officer said that at Babu Ram instances, Ram Singh was nabbed from his residence at Siraspur in Delhi

Ram Singh also disclosed that they were involved in this illegal racket for the last one and a half year and have so far supplied more than 1,500 fake driving licenses to various people.

The police said that they are looking for other accused Dheer Dhwaj, Akram Bhodha, Ashok and Dharamveer, who will be arrested soon.
