2 arrested in J&K for 'peddling' narcotics

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir after narcotics were recovered from their possession, the police said today.

A police team arrested Surinder Kumar, a resident of Punjab's Pathankot district, after he was allegedly found carrying 6.2-kg poppy straw in his vehicle, a police spokesperson said.

Another person was arrested at a checkpoint in north Kashmir's Bandipora district and 480 grams of charas were seized. The alleged peddler has been identified as Rafiq Wani, a resident of Bandipora, the spokesperson added.
