Two smugglers carrying more than 1.8 kg of opium, worth Rs 25 lakh in the international market, were arrested by the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) here.

Sanjay (24) and Deepak Rathore (19) were arrested by the CBN sleuths on a tip-off in front of the government-run M Y Hospital on April 21.

Officials recovered 1.8 kg of opium, kept in polythene bags, from them, CBN Indore unit's superintendent Mukesh Khatri said.

Both of them hailed from Mandsaur and were living in Indore for quite some time.

They had sourced the opium from two other persons who were absconding, Khatri said, adding that search was on to nab them.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
