2 autolifters nabbed

Two persons, allegedly involved in autolifting, have been arrested and two vehicles stolen from Vikaspuri area in west Delhi have been recovered, police said today.

Mohammed Sahid, a resident of Uttam Nagar's Shiv Vihar locality, and Mohammed Safik, resident of Loni road in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested on Friday on specific information, a senior police official said.

The duo came in a stolen van near Laxmi Market Police Picket in Vikaspuri, the official said, adding that when police signalled them to stop for checking,t he driver stopped the van but tried to flee with another person accompanying him.
 

However, they were arrested, DCP West District Ranvir Singh said.

During investigations, they allegedly confessed to their crime and also said they had stolen several other vehicles from Vikas Puri area.

Police recovered another vehicle from Aligarh in UP.
