The police today arrested two boys on suspicion that they were Bangladeshi nationals, a senior police officer said.

They were arrested from the regional passport seva kendra near the EM Bypass-Rasbehari Avenue connector, the officer said.

Limon Barua (22) and Ramiz Barua (18) were arrested when they went to the passport office to procure Indian passports by producing fake driving licences and school certificates, the officer of Anandapur police station said.

It was learnt that they were residents of Koxbazar in Bangladesh, he said.

"Their motive is still not clear. We are trying to find out whether they are a part of any insurgent group. We are seeking help from the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission here," he said.

The boys have been booked under the Foreigners Act, the officer said.
