2 BHU students shot at

Two students of Banaras Hindu

University were shot at and injured in Saketnagar colony of Lanka area in the city.

The condition of one of the students is stated to be serious and both of them are admitted to BHU hospital.

'Acting Vice Chancellor Rajeev Sangal said while briefing the media this evening that the condition of one Amit Anand of Birla hostel is serious as he was shot by miscreants on the back of his head, outside the BHU campus yesterday.

Sangal said that the incident was prima facie a matter of personal rivalry of the students.

Circle Officer of Bhelupur police station, Somen Barman, said that in preliminary investigation it has been found that they were shot over some personal rivalry and it was not a fallout of the two day violence in BHU.
