2 caught taking bribe in Raj

A Rajasthan roadways officer and a middleman were today arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 in Sikar.

P S Shekhawat, Chief Manager-Srimadhopur depot of Sikar district, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh through middleman Rajkumar from a conductor Charan Singh for not initiating action against him.

A few passengers were found travelling without tickets in Charan Singh's bus during a routine check some time ago and action against him was pending.

The deal was finalised at Rs 40,000. Based on the conductor's complaint, Shekhawat and Rajkumar were arrested while taking the bribe of Rs 40,000 at the former's residence in Sikar by the ACB, a spokesperson said.
