2 children among 5 killed in blaze at Outer Delhi factory

Five people, including two children, died in a fire that broke out in the wee hours today at a paper-plate making factory in the Begumpur area of Outer Delhi.

The deceased have been identified as Niranjan (5), Nilesh (11), Shivam (15), Shravan Kumar (17) and Nitin (26) who, police said, were all relatives of the factory owner.

"All five died of suffocation because of the smoke," said a fire official.

The blaze was reported at 3.14 A.M. And eight fire tenders were dispatched to the spot to fight the flames. The fire was completely doused by 5:50 A.M., the official added.
 

"The incident took place at A-305, Rajeev Vihar, in Begumpur. The cause of the fire is yet to be established. Those killed were relatives of the factory owner. A case is being registered in this regard," said a senior police official.
