Pakistan authorities have arrested four men, including two Chinese nationals, after shooting down a drone which they were using to make a video of the newly-constructed Islamabad International Airport, a security official said today.
The Airport Security Force (ASF) went into action as security was stepped up ahead of the inauguration of the airport next month.
A security official said that the four men were employees of a Chinese company involved in the construction of the airport and told during probe that they were allowed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to make the video of their completed work.
"The ASF was not aware of the permission as it was given before the security of the airport was handed over to it," said the official.
It was not clear if the arrested would be formally charged because, though, they had the permission of CAA but they still needed clearance from ASF.
The airport is set to begin flight operations from May 3 after formal inauguration by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
