2 'contract killers' arrested

Two alleged contract killers, carrying a cash reward of Rs 63,000 and wanted in several cases including a murder near IGI Airport here last year, have been arrested, police said today.

According to police, the accused identified as Amit Kumar alias Khachchar (28) and Pradeep alias Birju (30) were arrested by the staff of southwest district police yesterday after it received a tip off that the latter will come to meet his girlfriend in Nangli Vihar area in Najafgarh.

"With their arrest, more than 10 cases including murder, robbery, kidnapping for ransom, attempt to murder and carjacking have been solved. One robbed Swift car was also recovered from them," said DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev.
 

They had murdered a man identified as Darshan near IGI airport last year, he added.

Amit was known as AK-47 among his associates and he had even got an image of it tattooed on his arm.

Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest co-accused in these crimes and to ascertain their involvement in other cases.
