Two contractual staff engaged in AIR FM has been removed from service and a programme officer of the channel suspended following reports of a woman employee being sexually harassed.
The move comes after a three-member committee set up to look into the allegation recommended various corrective actions and remedial measures to ensure the safety of women, especially those working during odd hours in Prasar Bharati, said officials in the I&B Ministry.
"On the basis of the recommendations of the committee, Prasar Bharati has removed two contract staff in AIR FM Gold, suspended the programme executive in charge of the channel to facilitate inquiry and issued a show cause notice to the head of the Delhi Kendra of AIR," they said.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha said All India Radio has also constituted a complaint committee to inquire into the complaint made by one of the woman FM presenters.
