Two cops were injured today in an incident of stone pelting by miscreants in front of the Jammu and Kashmir's district hospital in Rajouri following the death of a student who died of heart attack at a college here.

The students of the Government PostGraduate college, Rajouri, were protesting the non availibility of ambulance in the hospital to shift the body of a fellow student who died of carduiac arrest in their college.

"A student died due to heart attack at the PG college in Rajouri. Some students protested over it," Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told PTI.

As soon as student was declared brought dead, students of the college started holding a protest in front of the hospital and blocked the mainroad saying that no ambulance was available inside the hospital premises.

However, Choudhary denied reports suggesting that the death was caused due to the non availability of ambulance.

Some miscreants gathered at the hospital and resorted to stone pelting on the police in which two cops were injured, Choudhary said.

The miscreants were later dispersed by the police.

"We are examining the footage of stone pelting to take action against the accused," he said.
