2-day coastal security awareness campaign held in Thrissur

A two-day coastal Security Awareness Campaign (CSAC) was conducted in coastal villages of Thrissur district by the Southern Naval Command.

The campaign was formally inaugurated yesterday at Fisheries Hatchery Hall at Azhikode jetty.

The campaign was also conducted in other villages namely Companykadavu landing point and at Munakadavu Harbour Hall and Valappadu Police Station.

Department of Fisheries, Coastal Police and State Police participated in the campaign.

CSAC is being routinely conducted by 'teams from Naval Officer-in-Charge (Kerala)' on a monthly basis at various coastal districts of Kerala.

The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about threats from the sea to sensitise the general public about the need to be security conscious and the role of coastal population in preventing intrusions from the sea.
