A building under construction has collapsed on the Indonesian island of Borneo, killing two workers and burying at least 13 others.

The head of the local disaster management agency, Wahyu Widhi Wiranata, said eight workers were injured after the three-story structure collapsed today morning in Samarinda, the provincial capital of East Kalimantan.

Rescuers have pulled two bodies out from the debris and are still searching for the missing, Wiranata said. He said rescuers have heard people buried under the debris shouting for help.

He added that more than 50 people escaped unharmed.

The cause of the collapse was being investigated. The building was to contain shops.
