Two persons were killed and six others injured when a car fell into a trench near Chaffi valley in this district, police said.
The incident took place when the car, on its way from Dhanachuli to Haldwani, lost its balance and fell into a trench this afternoon, Inder Singh Rana, SO Bheemtal said.
Virendra Singh Dangwal, a teacher and Suresh Paneru, owner of the car were killed on the spot, while Harish Khatari, Vikas Chauhan, Prem Singh, Dhan Singh Suwakot, Satish Budhani and Devendra Rautela were injured, the SO said.
The injured have been referred to higher centre Haldwani for treatment, he added.
