2 die, 10 injured in an accident in Samalkha

Two persons were killed and 10 others injured when two cars collided in southwest Delhi's Kapashera area in the wee hours of today, police said.

While one of the deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Ram Prakash, the identity of other person is yet to be ascertained, a senior police official said.

Prakash died on way to a hospital, the other man succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, he added.

The accident happened around 2 AM at an intersection at Samalkha in Kapashera when driver of a car, the only occupant, was taking a u-turn and hit by another speeding vehicle, which had 11 people who were returning after attending a marriage function.
 

It was a T-bone (side) collision and both the cars overturned by the impact of the crash.

Police was informed and all occupants were rushed to a hospital, he said, adding that both the deceased were travelling in the speeding vehicle.

"A case has been registered," DCP (Southwest) Surender Kumar said.
