2 die in Kamrup district road accident

Two persons, including a teenage girl, died while two others were injured on Sunday in a road accident in Kamrup district, police said.

They said the accident took place on National Highway-31 when a speeding bus hit a mini truck, which then knocked down a motorcycle at Maranjana.

The pillion rider of the motorcycle, Mridusmita Sarma (20) a graduation student at Pub Kamrup College, and the driver of the mini truck -- Nasib Ali (55) -- were killed on the spot.

Mridusmita's father Bankim Sarma was riding the bike and was seriously injured. He has been shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.

 

The owner of the mini truck was also injured in the accident, police said.
