2 die in separate drowning incidents

Two persons including a minor boy died in separate drowning incidents here, police said today.

10-year-old Aman drowned in a water-filled ditch of brick kiln, where he had gone to take a dip along with his brother and friends yesterday in Jaitpur town under Sahjanwa area here, they said.

He drowned while bathing, police said, adding that locals fished out his body and rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

In another incident, body of a middle-aged man was found floating in Ami river in Kandrai village under Khajni police station area.

The deceased has been identified as Ramashraya Chaurasia of the same village. It is suspected that he might have gone to relieve himself near the river where he slipped and drowned, police said.
 

The body has been sent for post-mortem, they said.
