2 die of swine flu in Guj; another dies of suspected virus

Two women succumbed to the deadly H1N1 virus at a government hospital here in the last 24 hours, while the death of a third person was suspected to be swine flu at a private facility, officials said today.

Of the two victims, 42-year-old Minal Dalsukhbhai Parmar from Dethan village in Vadodara and 33-year-old Mamta Soni from Devas in Madhya Pradesh, succumbed to the viral disease at the Sir Sayajirao general hospital here, Superintendent of the hospital, Deveshwar Pandey said.

Meanwhile, 42-year-old Yunus Garbadawala from Dohad town in Gujarat died of suspected swine flu at a private facility, his family said.
 

At least 19 other persons, who have been detected with the H1N1 virus, have been admitted to the isolation ward of SSG hospital, Pandey said.

Kutch district in Gujarat is the most-affected region due to the H1N1 virus infection, which has registered 16 deaths and 150 positive cases.
