2 drug peddlers sentenced to 4 years RI

Two drug peddlers of Uttarakhand were sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment by a court here today.

Firoz Khan, son of Mohamad Alim, and Vinod Kumar, son of Sukh Ram, resident of Vikas Nagar, were fined Rs 50,000 each and one year additional imprisonment in case of non-payment of the fine, by the District and Session Judge, Nahan, R K Verma.

The two were convicted under section 21 and 22 of NDPS Act, District Attorney Ajmer Singh told PTI.

The duo was arrested by the Himachal Pradesh police during checking at Khodri Majri village, along the Uttarakhand border on October 15, 2012 and a large amount of drugs were recovered from them, the DA said.
