2 edu deptt officials held for taking Rs 70,000 bribe

Two education department officials were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Andhra Pradesh's Nizamabad district for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 70,000.

Deputy district education officer (FAC Bhodan) and mandal education officer in Nizamabad district (names not disclosed by ACB) were caught yesterday when they demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 70,000 as bribe for revoking the complainant's suspension, an ACB release said here today.

After recovery of the bribe amount, both the accused were arrested and they will be produced before a special court for ACB cases here, the release added.
