2 engineers hospitalised after criminals attack

Two young engineers were hospitalised after unidentified miscreants opened fire indiscriminately at them here, police said today.

The incident occurred when the victims - Gurpreet Singh, his friend Tarandeep Singh - were having cold drinks when two bike-borne unidentified youths opened fire at them, injuring them seriously last night, they said.

Both were rushed to a hospital, where they have been admitted to the intensive care unit, sources said, adding, that identity of the assailants and the motive was not yet ascertained.

Senior police officials including SSP, Amol V Homkar rushed to the spot and recovered empty cartridges.

While Gurpreet was working with reputed company as a production manager in Bhubaneswar, Tarandeep returned home recently after completing his engineering course in Pune.
 

SP (City) Karthik S said police has begun investigation in to the incident and assured to nail the culprits soon.
