2 ex-corporators among 13 booked for violence

Two former corporators were among thirteen people booked by the police for allegedly indulging in violence at Reliance Coalbed Methane Gas project site situated in Lalpur in Shahdol district three days ago.

"Based on a complaint by Reliance employee Sunil Mishra, a case has been registered against two former Congress corporators Sudhir Gupta and Ravindra Tiwari and 11 others," Budhar police station in-charge Vimal Shrivastava said here today.

The complaint was filed under Sections 127, 294, 506-B, 147 and 109 of the Indian Penal Code he said.

The complainant alleged that Mishra and Tiwari instigated villagers to damage fencing poles fixed at wellsite command 13 and 14 on October 11.
 

The complainant also alleged that they also issued threats to kill employees, due to which the company suffered damages to the tune of Rs 70,000.

Further investigations are on, the police official said.
