Two government officials were caught by Haryana State Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe in separate incidents, a spokesperson said today.
One Kuldeep Punia, a Sub Divisional Engineer of power utilities in Sonipat district, was yesterday caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a Khewra resident for getting a temporary electricity connection sanctioned for his under construction warehouse, the spokesperson said.
In a separate case, Krishan Kumar, halqa patwari (area revenue official) in Jhajjar district, was caught accepting bribe of Rs 2,500 from a resident in lieu of mutation of land and change of name of the complainant's brother in revenue records.
Two separate cases in this matter were registered yesterday under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act at Rohtak police station of the Bureau, spokesperson said.
