Two security personnel in Jhunjhunu jail escaped unhurt today after a man opened fire at them when he was denied entry into the prison premises.
Yogesh had gone to meet a prisoner in the jail but was denied permission in absence of an identity proof.
"While returning, he opened fire at two Home Guards near the main gate of the jail when they were on duty but the bullets missed target," Circle Officer Jhunjhunu Urban Gopal Sharma said.
One of the guard also retaliated fire, he said, adding the accused fled from the scene and is being searched.
