2 Haryana cops held for taking money from heist accused

Two Haryana policemen have been arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly taking Rs 7.5 lakh from one of the robbers who had allegedly robbed Rs 7.69 crore in a daring daylight heist in Lajpat Nagar area of south Delhi, police said today.

The two policemen have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Basant and Head Constable Sandeep Kumar, police said.

The two policemen, posted at Gurgaon's Kherki Dola police station, had allegedly taken Rs 7.5 lakh from Ajay Nagarwal, which he was carrying to buy a second-hand SUV in Gurgaon, they said.

In one of the biggest robbery cases in the national capital, around seven armed men intercepted a Honda City car near Lajpat Nagar Metro station on January 28 early morning and fled with the vehicle and Rs 7.69 crore in cash.
 

Seven persons, including a juvenile, have been apprehended in the case.
