2 Haryana JEs to face action for dereliction in duty

Two Junior Engineers of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan have been found guilty of remaining absent from duty for a period of about one year in Mewat of Haryana, an official said today.

Taking stern action for dereliction in duty, Mewat Deputy Commissioner R C Verma has directed to register an FIR against two Junior Engineers namely Rajesh Kumar and Varun Kumar, he said.

A contractor Shaukat Ali was also found guilty of quitting the work in the middle, hampering the construction work of a school.

Shaukat Ali was awarded the contract for construction of rooms and hostel in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalya at Punhana but due the absence of both the JEs, the contractor left the construction work in the middle, he said.
 

As many as 438 additional rooms were to constructed in district Mewat under SSA in the year 2010-11 out of which 427 rooms had been constructed while the work on remaining rooms was in progress, the official said.

Similarly, 557 rooms were to be constructed in the year 2011-12 out of which 504 rooms had been constructed and the work on remaining rooms was in progress, he said.

In the year 2012-13, 172 rooms were to be constructed out of which 144 rooms have been completed while construction work on remaining rooms was in progress, said the official.
