2 held for attack on woman

Two persons allegedly involved in a murderous attack on a woman at Ghevra village in outer Delhi, have been arrested from Bawana, police said today.

The woman Chandtari was attacked at her house in Ghevra on April 9 night with hammer and dagger, said Vikramjit Singh, DCP of Outer Delhi.

During investigations, it was found that Sanjit, and his two associates Jagbir and Golu, had made the attack to settle scores for the murder of his brother Sandeep, the officer said.

Chandtari's son Karambir had murdered Sandeep over some dispute and was lodged in jail now.

Jagbir and Golu were tipped to reach DSIDC, Sector-5 in Bawana from where they were arrested yesterday by a police team.
 

They revealed during interrogation that while Sanjit and Jagbir attacked the woman, Golu was waiting near the escape vehilce so that they could flee from the spot without getting caught, the officer added.
