Two persons allegedly demanding extortion money from a school teacher in the name of ultra outfit People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were arrested from Khambi village under Patan Police station in Palamau district, police today said.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted raid in the village last evening and arrested Pradip Paswan and Girija Ram.

The two had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from Patan Middle School teacher Harivansh Dubey, who lodged an FIR in this regard on April 7, he said.

Paswan was a toddy seller in the village, from where he was caught.

Police recovered two pistols, six cartridges and three mobile phones from the possession of the two.

Five of their accomplices, however, managed to escape, he said.
