Police arrested two persons and today claimed to have solved more than 16 cases of drugging in which the duo had decamped with the belongings of the victims.

Police arrested Chandeshwar (31) and Arjun Singh (33) from Govindpuri area in South East Delhi and recovered 53 mobiles, 130 tables of Ativan tablets used for drugging, gold chain, gold lockets, battery and watches from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused said they used to procure the banned drug from different medical stores by showing them fake medical prescription.

Initially, they used to rob the auto-drivers by hiring them and later they started booking cabs with stolen mobile phones so that their identity could not be established, added police.

"Efforts are being made to connect the recovered mobile phones with incidents so that the accused can be arrested in other cases also," police said.
