Police today arrested two persons from Sonipat accused of involvement in a fake car theft incident in order to claim insurance.
Based on a tip off, Praveen and Sandeep, residents of Hisar, were arrested from Sector 7, Meham Road, Gohana yesterday evening while they were roaming in a stolen car, police said.
Preliminary investigation of the accused revealed that in 2013 by faking a car theft incident, they had claimed car theft insurance from an insurance company and now were planning to sell off the stolen car.
