Delhi Police arrested two persons and recovered 6 pistols and as many spare magazines from them, and claimed to have busted another inter-state gang which procured illegal arms from Munger, Bihar, and supplied them in Delhi and NCR.

Harun (26) and Zuber (19), both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on November 13 after it received a tip-off that two persons will come to Akshardham Metro Station for delivering illegal arms.

"During the follow-up of the activities of the gang active in the manufacturing, procuring and supply of the illegal arms manufactured in Munger, information was received about the duo. Accordingly, a trap was laid around Akshardham Metro Station.

"At about 1.50 PM, when the two persons reached the spot, they were apprehended. During search, 4 pistols with 4 spare magazines were found kept in a bag in Harun's possession while Zuber had 2 pistols with 2 spare magazines in his bag," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

The duo's interrogation brought out that illegal firearms were delivered to the contacts in Delhi and NCR. It is also learnt that the duo had to supply at least one such consignment every month in Delhi, Meerut, Muzaffar Nagar, UP etc, police said.
