With the arrest two brothers and the recovery of a two-year-old boy from their custody, Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang which used to kidnap kids and force them into begging.

The accused, identified as Rohit and Sachin, were running the gang along with their father, who is absconding.

"Following a tip-off that two children, a 12-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother, have been forced into begging at Ghaziabad Railway Station, we launched search operations," a police officer said.

During the course of investigation, it was learnt that the children had been confined at a jhuggi in Bhoor Bharat Nagar near Vijay Nagar of Uttar Pradesh, additional deputy commissioner of police (North-East) Rajendra Singh Sagar said.

On February 17, a raid was conducted and the boy was rescued. Rohit and Sachin were also arrested, but their father, Kesho Ram, is absconding along with the kidnapped girl, Sagar said.

During interrogation, they revealed that Kesho Ram had kidnapped the children from Sonia Vihar area of Delhi.

Sagar said further investigations into the case were in progress.
