Jagdish Kumar, alias Jaggu alias JD, and Siya Ram, both residing near Kali Bari Mandir in R K Puram, were held yesterday on the charge of killing the security guard of Narang Scientific works Pvt Ltd Rajit Ram Yadav and decamping with around Rs 12,000 from his room, a senior police official said.
Yadav used to work as labourer in the factory during the day and as security guard at night.
"During interrogation, the accused said that they were facing financial crisis and had planned to loot Yadav who used to keep a huge amount of money and organise monthly chit funds among the workers in the industrial area," said V Renganathan, ACP West District.
They had attacked Yadav on the night of May 31 with knives thinking they would get good money. After killing the deceased, they could get Rs 12,090 from his room, the official said.
Police recovered Rs 5,770 cash and two blood-stained knives, police said.
