Two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in a murder case and robbery here, the police said today.

They have been identified as Parveen (34) and his nephew Pankaj (22), both residents of Swaroop Nagar.

The duo is a part of a gang of robbers which had allegedly robbed an Amul milk distributor at gun point on September 11 in the Samaipur Badli area, they said.

The police developed intelligence and collected information about them. One September 18, a police team received a tip off about the accused coming to Narela and laid a trap near Ramlila ground.

At about 4 PM, the two accused appeared on a scooter. While the police signalled them to stop, they tried to flee. Police chased and nabbed them. The accused whipped out a pistol, but were overpowered by the police, police said.

The scooter recovered from them was found to be stolen. Documents of another stolen motorcycle were also recovered from them.

During interrogation one of the accused confessed to have killed one Rahul, who had multiple cases of robbery registered against him, in the Samaipur Badli area in July last year, police said.

Pankaj along with his two associates Vicky and Deepak had stabbed Rahul to death. They suspected Rahul was passing on information about their gang to the police, they said.

Vicky and Deepak are still absconding. The Delhi Police has declared a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on their heads.
