2 held for robbery in elderly woman's house in Delhi

Two persons have been arrested for allegedly committing robbery in a senior citizen's house last month in west Delhi, police said today.

Mohammad Illiyas and Mohammad Habibul were arrested over the complaint of the woman, a resident of Kirti Nagar.

She had complained that on the intervening night of January 22-23, the accused, equipped with house-breaking weapons, committed robbery in her house.

They were arrested on a tip-off and further investigation was on to find out if they were involved in other offences.

With the arrest of the accused, two cases of house theft and one cheating case have been solved, police said.
 

Police claimed that Rs 10,000 cash, along with jewellery, three mobile phones and house-breaking equipments were recovered from the accused.
