Two persons have been arrested for allegedly trying to syphon off Rs 4.5 crores from bank account of yoga teacher Ramdev's Patanjali Yogpeeth here.

According to Superintendent of Police (city) Ajai Sahni, Delhi resident Sanjay and his accomplice Kishan of Kanpur were arrested yesterday when they tried to transfer the amount through a cheque to an NGO run by them at Gwalior from a nationalised band here.

"However, the Branch Manager of Punjab National Bank here got suspicious and contacted officials at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, who denied issuing any such cheque," the officer said.
