Two persons were arrested in connection with a 'false' case of attempt to murder in Pul Prahladpur area of southeast district, police said today.

The accused have been identified as Arun (22) and Robin (28), both residents of Pul Prahladpur area.

On July 11, the complainant-Parveen Chaprana, an associate of Arun, had filed a case of attempt to murder against the associates of his rival Raju Bhadana and Kaushal Bhardwaj.

"In his complaint, Parveen alleged that when he was going to Saket Court, he was stopped by associates of Raju and Kaushal and one of them shot at him with a country-made pistol and the bullet hit his right shoulder and the accused fled," a senior police officer said.

Officer said that during investigation, it was found that Kaushal Bhardwaj had recenlty deposed against complainant Praveen and his associate Arun, adding that Praveen wanted to implicate Kaushal in a false case, so that they could put pressure on the complainant party and negotiate for compromise with them.

"Police have arrested Arun and Robin, associates of Praveen, in connection with the case. The duo was also wanted in a case in which Kaushal had deposed against them. Police will also arrest Praveen soon," officer added.
