Two persons were arrested while a minor was detained after some police personnel were fired upon as they tried to stop a group of sand mafia in Bhamroli area of this district, a police official said today.
But no one was injured in the incident, he said
"Acting on a tip-off about an illegal sand mining, a team raided Bhamroli area last night where nearly two dozen people were found involved in the activity. Some of them were loading sand in a tractor and they opened fire at police," Dholpur SP Rajesh Singh said.
A police jeep was damaged in the firing. Two persons were arrested while a minor was detained following the incident, Singh said.
The SHO of Sadar Police Station Niyaz Mohammad has lodged an FIR against the accused.
