Afreen (22), G Gulam Hussain (20) were arrested and the two minors charged with robbery and killing former police inspector Arjunsingh Parihar (78) at Vishnupuri Colony on May 28, 2015, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Santosh Kumar told reporters.

The accused, with an alleged intention to commit theft, entered the house of Parihar when he was alone waiting for his wife to return. The former officer had kept the entrance door of his house open for his wife, he said.

Taking advantage of this, the accused entered the house. Parihar spotted one of them, a minor, and overpowered him. The other three then allegedly strangled him to death in order to free their accomplice, the DIG said.
