2 held, police claim to have bust interstate gang of robbers,

With the arrest of two persons, police today claimed to have busted an interstate gang of robbers active in Delhi, Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Police have recovered Rs 15,000, .32 bore Chinese pistol, five live cartridges, a knife, some jewelleries worth Rs 5 lakh and some house-breaking equipments from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Wasim Malik (30) and Khurshid (30), both residents of Ghaziabad. The duo were arrested by a team of Special Task Force (STF) from R K Puram area last night.

"Khurshid and Wasim Malik disclosed that they were involved in a case of dacoity in Mayur Vihar area and also in an attempt to murder case in Vivek Vihar. Wasim Malik was wanted in both these cases whereas Khurshid was on bail," said a senior police officer.
 

The officer added Wasim Malik also said he had committed several burglaries in Delhi, NCR, Haryana and Bangalore. Wasim stated he, along with his associates, used to roam in various colonies and target the locked houses.

"Wasim further said one of them used to wait outside the locked house in a Honda City car and other gang-members would commit theft by breaking locks" said the officer.
