2 Indian doctors killed in Nepal landslide

An Indian doctor couple were killed today when their car was buried in a landslide in Nepal's Lumbini zone.

Two other doctors who were also in the car sustained injuries in the incident in Siddhababa area near Bhairahawa, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Ganesh K C.

Those who were killed in the incident were identified as Dr Tarun Dip Singh, an eye specialist, and his spouse Yashoda Kochar, a gynaecologist.

The doctors were heading towards their office in Palpa from Butawal.

The doctors were serving in Lumbini Medical College in Palpa.

Mud and rocks fell on the car. The injured doctors have been admitted in a local hospital in Butawal.
 

The dry landslide may have been triggered by aftershocks.
