Two Indians in the UAE have jointly won a luxurious car after correctly predicting the results in the football World Cup.

The two Keralites, Ismail Palappadam and Mohammed Basheer, have been handed over keys of a new Hyundai Genesis car by winning the National Fifa World Cup competition, which asked participants to make correct predictions of results.

The two roommates, who run a photography studio in Al Ain, said they might sell the car to invest in their business.

Palappadam (30), a photographer, said he could not believe it when he heard he had won the competition.

"I was at work when I got the call from The National and I felt very excited and happy that I had won. I thanked God," he said.

Basheer (37), a delivery driver, said he was considering using some of the money to bring his wife and three children to the UAE from Kerala.

"My family is going to join me here soon and I am very happy about that. I will also keep some of the money for my children's education," he said.
