Two persons were seriously injured after a Guwahati-bound bus ferrying passengers from Mizoram skidded off the road in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district early today, police said.
In separate twin mishaps in East Khasi Hills district five persons suffered minor injuries on the same day.
Police said the Ri-Bhoi bus mishap happened at around 5:30 am at Umbang village near Pine Brook School under Umsning block.

"We have shifted the two injured persons to Shillong Civil Hospital," district SP G D Kharwanlang told PTI.
The injured bus passengers were identified as Ajay Karjeer of West Bengal's New Alipur and Habajur Haque of Assam's Dhubri district, the SP said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the bus, with 40 passengers on board, lost control when it was moving at a high speed, Kharwanlang said.
While no case is registered as yet, the SP said police suspected that the driver must have fallen asleep.
