2 injured in clash between two groups

Two persons were injured during a clash between two groups of farmers over queueing up for weighing sugarcane at the Devband sugar mill here, police said today.

The incident took place last night when the farmers were lining up for getting their sugarcane weighed at the mill, they said.

Rajkumar (42) of Kulsath village, was seriously injured when he was shot at by the farmers belonging to other group, following which the group supporting Rajkumar started beating one Brajveer (51), who had allegedly fired the shot, and his aide Naresh, Saharanpur SSP Nitin Tiwari said today.

The police sent the two injured persons to a district hospital, following which Rajkumar, who was hit by the gunshot, was referred to PGI Chandigarh, police said.
 

A case has been registered against Brajveer, Naresh along with two other unidentified persons, police said.
